It was great to see two Venrock companies on the Wall Street Journal’s list of the Top 10 Clean Tech companies. Both Boston-Power and Sapphire Energy were recognized for their huge potential in this very exciting sector and have made great progress. Congratulations to both teams for their continued success!

Venrock portfolio company Phononic Devices was one of the Top 10 Big Ideas winners at GigaOm’s Green:Net 2011. Katie Fehrenbacher of GigaOm’s earth2tech interviewed Phononic CEO Tony Atti about monetizing heat through advanced thermoelectric devices, by converting waste heat into power or, conversely, removing heat from cooling and refrigeration. Hot (or cool) stuff!
